DUDLEY — Brooke Elizabeth Thompson and Sidney Ray Price III said their marriage vows June 4 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Shirley Acker Ward officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Brogden United Methodist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Lloyd Carl and Vickie Radford Thompson of Dudley. She is the granddaughter of the late Ted and Dora Radford, Patsy Thompson and the late Lloyd Thompson of Dudley.

Sidney Ray Jr. and Joanne Hughes Price of Seven Springs are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Marvolee Lee and the late LeRoy Lee of Four Oaks and Sidney Sr. and Pearl Price of Seven Springs.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her son and father, the bride wore a white strapless satin A-line gown with a split front with multi-colored floral embroidery.

For her headpiece, she chose a white elbow-length veil with Swarovski crystals and a sutache edge attached to a gold hand-painted enamel flower rhinestone tiara. She carried calla lilies, stephanotis, white roses and alstromeria freesia.

Karla Thompson Fry of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Chancey Price Thompson of Dudley, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer E. Wilson and Kristi K. Hauck of Goldsboro and Allison Whitman Sullivan of Seven Springs, friends of the bride, and Lindsay Thompson Tillman of Pikeville, cousin of the bride.

Sidney Ray Price Jr. was best man. Ushers were Johnnie Tripp, Brad Coffee and Jeremy Kennedy of Seven Springs, friends of the groom, and Jason Hughes of Mount Olive, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Randy Thompson of Dudley, brother-in-law of the groom; Daryl Fry of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the bride; Dexter Rouse of Seven Springs, cousin of the groom; and Jeffrey Allen of Faison and Garrett Olstheim of Mount Olive, friends of the groom.

Honorary bridesmaids were Chrystal Jones of Kinston and Beth Kennedy and Malena Schimmel of Seven Springs, cousins of the groom, and Emily Thompson of Dudley, cousin of the bride.

Meredith Jones of Pikeville, friend of the bride, was flower girl.

Angie Joyner of Mount Olive and Carolyn Cox of Goldsboro directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sherry Staps of Seven Springs, cousin of the groom. Cindy Bailey of Pikeville, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

Laura Daughtry was a special helper.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jeremy Owens of Dudley, pianist, and Steve Jones and Laura Rachel Barwick, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Seven Springs.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Southern Wane High School and a 2005 graduate of Johnston Community College with an associate degree in paralegal technology. She is employed as a paralegal with John Gomulka, attorney.

The groom attended Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College. He graduated from Johnston Community College in 2002 with a truck driver’s training certificate. He is employed as a truck driver with Goldsboro Milling Co.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Taylor Rivenbark, cousin of the bride, and Elizabeth Bailey, friend of the bride, distributed bubbles. Donna Merritt of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, distributed favors. Pam Price and Beverly Sutton, aunts of the groom, cut the wedding cake. Sylvia Creel and Scarlett Rouse, aunts of the groom, poured punch. Belinda Price, aunt of the groom, and Teresa Harrell, friend of the bride, poured tea.

Carolyn Lewis, Lori Jones, Angie Joyner and Laura Daughtry held a bridal luncheon May 28 at the Bistro at Duplin Winery.

May 27 through 29, friends of the groom held a bachelor weekend in Topsail Island.

Karla Thompson Fry held a bachelorette party May 21 in Raleigh.

On May 15, friends at Brogden Church held a floating miscellaneous shower in the fellowship hall.

Karla Thompson Fry, Kaye Radford, Edith King and Verlie Reeves held a floating miscellaneous shower April 24 at Brogden Church.

On April 23, the Price family held a cookout/shower at the home of Sidney and Pearl Price.

Jennifer Wilson held a lingerie shower March 25 at her home.

The groom’s parents and sister held a rehearsal dinner at Sleepy Creek Club House.
