Kathryn Suzanne Newcomb became the bride of Brian Joshua Lamb May 28 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Earl Moore officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents.

Parents of the bride are Fred Junior and Myrtle Edwards Newcomb of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Fred and Gertrude Edwards of Mount Olive and the late Jasper and Bessie Newcomb of Goldsboro.

Parents of the groom are Richard Lane and Teresa Lynn Lamb of Apex. He is the grandson of Paul and Margaret Hill of Nitro, W.Va., and the late Rosemary Lamb and Robert Lamb of Dunbar, W.Va.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown of white organza accented with three satin bands at the waist. The A-line skirt had an apron back with satin edging that flowed into a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a double-tiered elbow-length veil with satin cording. She carried a bouquet of gerbera daisies.

Elizabeth Anne Newcomb, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Sam Walton, friend of the bride, was man of honor. Megan Lybrand, friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Shaun Lane Lamb was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Paul Hopfer and Josh Eudailey, friends of the couple; Tony Hill, cousin of the groom; and I.J. Mozingo, friend of the bride. Groomsmen were Karl Grohmann and Eric Coffey, friends of the groom.

Brandie Anders and Katie Johnson, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Daisy, dog of the bride, was ring bearer.

Michelle Pierce directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Michelle Puryear, friend of the bride. Nikki Dunn, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Richard Fitzgerald, guitarist.

After a wedding trip to Paris and Nice, France, the couple will reside in Clayton.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2003 and 2005 magna cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in biological sciences and a bachelor of science degree in science education. She will be employed as a teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom graduated from Apex High School in 1997 and Berklee College of Music in 2003 with a bachelor of music degree in contemporary writing and production. He is employed as a call center representative with the State Employees’ Credit Union.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at their home. Edna Edwards, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake. Gray Johnson, aunt of the bride, poured punch.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner May 27 at Lane Tree Golf Club.

On May 18, co-workers of the bride held a bridal shower at Carolina Ale House.

The bride’s mother and sister held a bridal shower April 24 at the home of the bride’s parents.
