MOUNT OLIVE — Margaret Ann Johnson and Terry Lee Sledge were united in marriage May 7 at 3:30 p.m.

The Rev. Doug Barlette officiated at the double-ring candlelight ceremony at First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Parents of the bride are Dorothy Stone of Dudley and the late Vernon Stone. She is the granddaughter of the late Offie and Susan Strickland and the late Alson and Sadie Stone.

The groom is the son of Fay Hensley of Raleigh and the late David Sledge. He is the grandson of the late Thomas and Maude Silvers and the late Mr. and Mrs. Odell Sledge.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her son, F. Scott Johnson, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory matte satin with off-the-shoulder sleeves that were embellished with a satin band and floral emblem. The A-line gown featured a sweetheart neckline and a Sabrina back with five scallops that came together at the center with floral emblems. The gown fell into a chapel-length train and the train and front of the gown were accented with Alencon lace appliqués beaded with pearls and iridescent sequins.

For her headpiece, she chose a beaded comb attached to a single fingertip veil of silk illusion with satin pencil edging. She carried a clutch bouquet of ivory roses and greenery with pink and mint ribbons.

Patricia Berry of Puyallup, Wash., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ida Hope, sister of the bride, and Teresa Alexander, friend of the bride.

Doug Alexander of Summerville, S.C., was his friend’s best man. Ushers were Arthur Strickland, brother of the bride, and Michael Berry of Tacoma, Wash., nephew of the bride.

Ashley Sledge, granddaughter of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.

Cyerra Johnson, twin granddaughter of the bride, was the miniature bride. Allen Johnson, twin grandson of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Skyler Smith, granddaughter of the groom, and Amanda Carter, granddaughter of the bride, were flower girls. Patrick Yeich, grandson of the groom, was ring bearer.

Presiding at the register was Crystal Yeich, daughter of the groom. Angela Smith, daughter of the groom, distributed programs.

Patricia Coley and Tammy Johnson, daughter-in-law of the bride, were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Herring, pianist, and Matthew Barlette, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, the couple is residing in Raleigh.

The bride is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She was employed at Hilex-Poly of Mount Olive.

The groom graduated from Cary Senior High school and Wake Tech. He is self-employed at Sledge Tax and Bookkeeping.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance reception was held at the Shrine Club of Dudley. Simone Berry and Brittany and Kimberly Hope distributed bubbles.

On April 30, co-workers of the bride held a cookout.

Teresa Alexander and Janet Vernon held a floating shower Feb. 26 at the home of Donna Cook.

The couple held a rehearsal dinner at the church fellowship hall.
