PIKEVILLE — Michelle Cannon Hill and Roby Craig Bass of Goldsboro were united in holy matrimony May 7 at 1 p.m.

Gilbert Baker officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is the daughter of Gerald and Bonnie Cannon of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Wilma Thompson of Pikeville, the late Grover Cleveland Thompson and the late Bradley and Reba Cannon of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Edwin Bass and Hilda Bass of Pikeville. He is the grandson of the late Alvin and Sally Sullivan of Princeton and the late William Thomas and Florence Bass of Stantonsburg.

The bride wore a strapless mock two-piece tulle gown with beaded Schiffli lace and a sweep train.

She carried a cascading bouquet of lavender bluebird roses, purple statice and white miniature callas accented with needlepoint ivy.

Gage Bass was best man.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1989 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is employed as a realtor with Realy World Carolina Living.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1988. He is employed as a production leader at Bridgestone Firestone.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

On May 7, a party was held at Stoney Creek Country Club.
