Sawtelle - Gottshall

Mrs. Sawtelle

Amy Lynn Gottshall became the bride of Shawn David Sawtelle of Beloit, Wisc., Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.

Chaplain Scott Gardner officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Chapel.

The bride is the daughter of Donald and Joy Gottshall of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Harry Gottshall and Ida Gottshall of South Williamsport, Pa., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Asby of Kingston, Pa.

The groom is the son of Leigh Sawtelle of Beloit and Rory Sawtelle of Algonquin, Ill. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Repine of Marion, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sawtelle of Erie, Pa.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal white matte Italian satin A-line gown and coat. The gown was fashioned with a strapless neckline embellished with beaded floral embroidery. A princess satin A-line skirt added emphasis. Synthetic fur trimmed the satin coat with a chapel train. Floral embroidered motifs defined the coat and train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with pearl and rhinestone accents attached to a two-tiered, silver-edged elbow-length veil. She carried a white fur muff to match the fur trim on her gown.

Candace Kieffer was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Wendy Mitchell and Gail Gottshall, sisters of the bride; Becky Sawtelle and Lora Sawtelle, sisters of the groom; and Jessica Bonney and Ann Krause, friends of the bride.

Rory Sawtelle was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Kai Almquist, Zack Jenkins, Justin Balch, Julian Delgadillo and Brad Mart, friends of the groom, and Chris Sawtelle, brother of the groom.

Emilee Almquist was flower girl. Ben Almquist was ring bearer.

Presiding at the register was June Joyner. Jean McKenrick distributed programs.

Holly Davis was the reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Rebecca Tyndall, pianist and organist, and Kelly Little, Sarah Gardner and Don Coles Jr., vocalists.

After a wedding trip to the Poconos, the couple will reside in Anchorage, Alaska.

The bride is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, Wayne Community College and North Carolina State University with an associate’s degree in science and a bachelor’s degree in zoology.

The groom graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in Wisconsin. He is serving in the Air Force as an aircraft electrician stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Quality Inn. Alice Farmer was coordinator. Sylvia Beard and Corinne Haynes served the wedding cake.

Friends of the bride held a bridal shower Dec. 4 at Texas Steakhouse.
