Mrs. Bowie

Elizabeth Erin Fields and Mark Stuart Bowie were married Dec. 11 at 4 p.m.

Pastor David Jackson officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Freedom Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Warren Fields of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Sullivan of Pikeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur G. Fields of Fremont.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. James Stuart Bowie of Fremont. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Fulkerson of Fremont and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stuart C. Bowie of Oregon.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless A-line gown of white with corded lace all over beaded with sequins.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered elbow-length crystal edge veil.

Lisa Pate Gardner of Pikeville, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Wilkins of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, and Jenna Mentlewski of Farmville, sister of the groom.

James Bowie was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Bill Brown of Cary and Kris Pate of Pikeville, cousins of the groom, and Warren Fields of Apex, brother of the bride.

Christopher Fields, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

Connie Sasser directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jennifer Bull. Keri McCahan distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Brad Collier, pianist, and Scott and Vida Batson, vocalists.

After a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Sanford.

The bride is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor of fine arts degree in art education, a concentration in painting and drawing and a minor in business administration.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed as a product manager with Zenith Pumps of Sanford, Colfax Corp.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.

On Dec. 10, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek Country Club.

June, Charleen and Tiffany Thompson held a bridesmaids’ luncheon Nov. 27 at Billie’s on the Green.

On Nov. 26, Lisa Gardner held a lingerie party at her home.

Freedom Baptist Church held a floating wedding shower Nov. 14.

On Nov. 13, Charlotte, Debbie, Kim and Terrye Aycock held a bridal shower at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church.
