Mr. and Mrs. Dixon

Sheila Williams and James Dixon said their vows Oct. 23 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. John Herrington officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Antioch Baptist Church.

Iris Doctor of Sharpsburg and Johnnie L. White of Kansas City and Johnnie L. White of Kansas City are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Alberta White and the late Leroy White of Goldsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cora Lofton.

George I. Jr. and Hattie Dixon of Goldsboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stevens and the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hargrove of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory designer off-the-shoulder gown of satin with a sweetheart necklace. The long sleeves and fitted bodice were adorned with beaded lace with a Basque waistline. Tapered pearls hung over the heart-shaped open back. The full satin skirt and chapel-length train had a back peplum with three rosettes and lace cutouts with a scalloped edge.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-layered veil with pearls. She carried a bouquet of ivory tiger lilies circled in a lace cup accented with gold pearls and love knots.

Blenda Garner, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Leticia Serrano, Melissa Cousin, Yolanda Moore and Blanche Docter, sisters of the bride, and Stephanie Sykes, friend of the groom.

George L. Dixon III was best man. Ushers were Johnny Parker and Allen Harris, friends of the groom. Groomsmen were Josue Serrano and Victor Cousin, brothers-in-law of the bride, and Derrick Lassiter, Eric Barfield and Julian Edwards, friends of the groom.

Tia Green and Keshounda Dixon were flower girls. Victor Cousin was ring bearer.

Nina Serrano, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. Daunte Garner, nephew of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Thelma Smith directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Selena Wilkins. Thelma Mewborn and Sandra distributed programs.

Christian Sherrod, sister-in-law of the bride, and Thelma Mewborn, Sandra Williams and Selena Wilkins, friends of the bride, were hostesses.

A program of wedding music was provided by Cleveland Cody, pianist, and Antwanette Best, Pamela Wilder and Michelle Hobbs, vocalists.

After a wedding cruise to Grand Cayman Island and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a graduate of Goldsboro High School. She is employed as a health care technician at O’Berry Center.

The groom graduated from Rosewood High School. He is employed as a truck driver with JJ Haines.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church dining room.

A private reception was held at Best Western.

On Oct. 22, Tine Bishop, friend of the bride, held a surprise lingerie shower at her home.

Mary Faison, friend of the bride, held a bridal shower Oct. 16 at her home.

On Oct. 9, Stephanie Sykes, co-worker of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower at her home.

George L. Dixon III, brother of the groom, held a bachelor party in Garner.

The groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner at her home.
