Amanda Lee Cooper of Charlotte and Kemple Lee Williamson of Charlotte pledge their wedding vows Saturday, Sept. 18, at 4 p.m.
The Rev. Greg Biggs officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Elizabeth City Church of Christ.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Cooper of Elizabeth City. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Sawyer of Belhaven and Lola H. Cooper and the late Roswell Edward Cooper of Pantego.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. I.K. Williamson of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Mae M. Freeman and the late Ottis C. Freeman of Goldsboro and the late LaFayette and Nora Kemple Williamson of Princeton.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
Lisa Cooper of Greenville, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nickie Hurdle of Hertford, Julie Evans of Wilmington, Alison Miller and Pamela Smith of Elizabeth City, Heather Payne of Wake Forest, Sheree Pruett of Gastonia, Marie Sherrill of Newton, Tiffany Simmons of Bladenboro and Mary Beth Terry of Kinston, friends of the bride.
I.K. Williamson was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Woody Avant of Fuquay-Varina, Kevin Bridger of Jacksonville, John Couzelis of Charlotte, Paul Evans and Ron Russ of Wilminton, Jack Sherrill of Newton and David Simmons of Bladenboro, friends of the groom, and Clay and Ryan Cooper of Elizabeth City, brothers of the bride.
Carson Sawyer was the junior bridesmaid.
Evan Sherrill was flower girl. Jake Evans was ring bearer.
Michelle Avant , friend of the couple, and Harriette Woodard, friend of the bride’s family, were mistresses of ceremonies.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carolyn Craddock, pianist; Kasey Allen, flutist; and Nickie Hurdle and Barry Overman, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii the couple is residing in Charlotte.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Campbell University with a doctorate in pharmacy degree. She is employed as a pharmacist at Sam’s Club of Charlotte.
The groom graduated from North Carolina State University in 1988 with a degree in textile chemistry. He is employed as a financial advisor with Wachovia Securities Private Client Group of Charlotte.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the Pond House of Elizabeth City.
On Sept. 17, friends of the bride held a bridesmaids’ luncheon. The bride chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 17 at the Pond House Inn.
On Sept. 11, friends of the bride held a bridal shower in Fuquay-Varina.
Ladies of Elizabeth City Church of Christ held a bridal shower Aug. 22.
On Aug. 21, the bride’s parents held a luau at their home.
The groom’s parents held a dinner party Aug. 20.
