Heather Michelle Brock and Daniel Edward Davis of Dudley exchanged wedding vows Oct. 9 at 4 p.m.
The Rev. Jerry Jackson officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Providence United Methodist Church.
Billy and Barbara Brock of Dudley are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Lois Pender of Dudley, Vonnie Brock of Grantham, the late Douglas Pender and the late John Brock.
Parents of the groom are Steve and Alison Mundy of Winchester, Va., Vicki Davis of Dudley and the late William Penn Davis Jr. He is the grandson of Col. and Mrs. Bernard E. Mckeever Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Salle Belle Davis of Mount Olive and the late William Penn Davis Sr.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white sculpted strapless bodice overlaid with embroidered tulle framed with intricate beading. The multi-layered tulle ballgown skirt featured asymmetrical front and back drapes decorated with scattered embroidery and a chapel-length tulle detachable train.
For her headpiece, she chose a bandeau of Swarovski crystal flowers and marquis rhinestone leaves with a two-tiered veil dotted with rhinestones and crystals on a hidden comb. She carried a clutch bouquet of Virginia roses and white Bouvardia with stems wrapped with sheer ribbon accented with black pearls.
Melissa Shaw of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Brock of Goldsboro, sister-in-law of the bride, and Amy King of Kinston, Shannon Reynolds of Goldsboro, Leslie Vinson of Greenville, Jennifer Scott of Goldsboro and Stacy Pennington of Pikeville, friends of the bride.
Keever Davis of New Jersey was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Billy Brock Jr. of Goldsboro, brother of the bride; Marty Shaw of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the bride; Wesley Head of Goldsboro and Kyle Reeves of Mount Olive, cousins of the groom; and Brodie White of Virginia and Josh Price of Wilmington, friends of the groom. Ushers were Ben Whetsell of Mount Olive, Brandon Surles of Cary and Tommy Jensen of Maryland, friends of the groom.
Kala Shaw of Goldsboro, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Drake Shaw of Goldsboro, nephew of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
Alexis Pennington of Pikeville, friend of the couple, was flower girl. Tucker Reynolds of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was ring bearer.
Carol Price of Dudley directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Amanda Davis of Goldsboro, friend of the couple.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bob Kennedy of Dudley, uncle of the bride, and Meghann Flores of Goldsboro, vocalists, and Melissa Coutts, pianist.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She attended Wayne Community College. She is employed with the Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery as the surgery coordinator.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1997. He attended Wayne Community College. He is employed with Remines Construction and will be employed with 84 Lumber Co. as a manager trainee.
Following the ceremony, a dance reception was held at Southern Wayne Country Club. Keith and Ginger Waller of Mount Olive, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Ruth Blizzard of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Hope Kennedy of Dudley, aunt of the bride, poured punch.
On Oct. 8, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Billie’s Restaurant. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
Friends of the couple held a cookout Sept. 25 at the home of Wesley Head, cousin of the groom.
On Sept. 25, Verlie Reeves, Jane Head and Carol Price held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Southern Exposure Restaurant of Faison.
Billy and Missy Brock, Marty and Miss Shaw, Keith and Ginger Waller, Chris and Amanda Cwiakala, Matt Smith and Jennifer Scott held a lawn and garden shower Sept. 18 at the Brock home.
Aug. 26 through 29, friends of the bride held a bachelorette weekend in Myrtle Beach.
Friends of the groom held a bachelor weekend Aug. 25 through 28 in Las Vegas, Nev.
On Aug. 22, the bride’s family held a miscellaneous shower at Providence Church.
Missy Brock and Missy Shaw held a Christmas shower Jan. 17 at the Shaw home.
