PINK HILL — Sandra Kay Rouse and Melvin Lee Dixon Jr. were united in holy matrimony Saturday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m.

Pastor Donald Craft officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Willifred M. Rouse Sr. of Albertson are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Forrest and Dorothy Brock Rouse of Liddell and the late Milford Russell and Carrie Parrish Vinson of LaGrange.

Melvin Lee Dixon Sr. and the late Ruby Arlene Dixon of Wallace are parents of the groom.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of gold bridal satin with a side draped A-line skirt with a beaded empire strapless bodice that flowed into a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a fingertip veil of gold illusion with braided satin pencil edging attached to a tiara aodrned with miniature pearls and stardust crystals interspersed with petite rose leaves of gold. She carried a clutch bouquet of pink vogue roses hand-tied with pink sheer satin edged ribbon.

Linda Rouse Murphy of Albertson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kayla Dixon of Wallace, daughter of the groom; Jennifer Murphy Sumner of Pink Hill, niece of the bride; and Vidette Rouse of Raleigh, cousin of the bride.

Melvin Lee Dixon Sr. was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Mike Dixon of Wallace, brother of the groom, and Milton Grady Jr. of Raleigh and Bill Cooper of Seven Springs, friends of the couple.

Mackenzie Faith Rouse, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She was escorted by her mother, Karen Rouse of Albertson, sister-in-law of the bride. Jakeb Addison Rouse, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. He was escorted by his father, Steven Rouse, brother of the bride.

Glenda Whaley of Richlands and Sallie Harper of Albertson directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Harper. Trent Thigpen, nephew of the bride, and Jenna Pelletier, niece of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Bryan and Diane Rouse.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Albertson.

The bride is a graduate of East Duplin High School. She is employed in management at Guilford Inc. of Kenansville.

The groom graduated from Wallace-Rose Hill. He is employed as an electrician with Guilford Inc.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Albertson Ruritan Community building.

On Sept. 17, the couple held a rehearsal dinner at Albertson Ruritan Community building.

Friends of the groom held a bachelor weekend Sept. 11 and 12 in Raleigh.

Sept. 11 and 12, friends of the bride held a bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower at the home of Ernie and Linda Rouse of Surf City, uncle and aunt of the bride. Hostesses were Vidette Rouse and Penny Harper, cousins of the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Harper, Vidette Rouse, Steve and Karen Rouse and Brandon and April Martin held a miscellaneous his-and-hers shower and cookout Aug. 21 at the Harper home.
