Shannon Rose Paim of Mount Olive and David Christopher Daughtry of Mount Olive pledged their marriage vows Oct. 9 at 2 p.m.

Shirley Acker Ward officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Brogden United Methodist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mihlon and Vickie Horne of Dudley and Frank and Sherry Paim of Seven Springs. She is the granddaughter of James Sharpe and the late Wilma Sharpe of Dudley, Marie Horne, the late George Horne and Ann Paim of Goldsboro and the late Donald Paim of Massachusetts.

Steve and Laura Daughtry of Dudley are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Amy Daughtry and the late Dewey Daughtry of Goldsboro and Bruce and Jean Tapscott of Beaufort.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her grandfather, James Sharpe, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a halter bodice embellished with embroidered pearls and crystal sequins. The back halter bodice was embellished with pearl and sequin flowers and cascaded into a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil with crystals and pearls. She carried a handmade bouquet of purple hydrangeas and white roses with cascading ribbons.

Emily Jenkins was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Shelia Sharpe and Ashley Mitchell.

Steve Daughtry was best man. Ushers were Clay Jenkins and Anthony Henderson.

Tiffany Kearney was flower girl. Bryen Daughtry was ring bearer.

Marcia Raynor directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Jonathan Paim.

A program of wedding music was provided by Anita Lanier, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Disney World, Fla., the couple will reside in Mount Olive.

The bride is employed as manager with McDonald’s.

The groom is employed as an auto body technician with Craft Master’s of Kinston.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.

On Sept. 12, Brogden United Methodist Women held a miscellaneous shower at the church.

Emily Jenkins held a lingerie shower Aug. 1 at the home of the bride.

On June 12, Shelia Sharpe, aunt of the bride, held a bridal shower at her home.
