Faircloth - Strickland
SEVEN SPRINGS — Lawanda Lynn Strickland and Wade Faircloth III exchanged promises Sept. 18 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Seven Springs Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Carl and Wanda Strickland of Seven Springs. She is the granddaughter of Sadie Price of Mount Olive, the late Lincoln Price and the late George and Cora Lee Strickland.
The groom is the son of David and Donna Faircloth of Jackson. He is the grandson of Doris Faircloth of Fayetteville, the late Wade Faircloth, Margaret Hall and the late Clarence Hall.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white Italian satin with an off-the-shoulder neckline, a fitted bodice and a dropped scalloped waistline. Alencon lace accented with seed pearls and sequins embellished the bodice. The full scalloped skirt flowed to semi-cathedral length.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara lined with pearls and stones with a cathedral-length veil. She carried yellow and orange roses with white and yellow daisies and orange and yellow Gerber daisies.
Barbara Ann Sullivan was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Della King and Cameron Sheffield.
David Faircloth was best man. Ushers were Nickie Brock and Robert Burkin. Groomsmen were Matthew Strickland and John Faircloth.
Courtney Brock was flower girl. Benjamen Justice was ring bearer.
Meg Jackson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Amanda Alphin.
A program of wedding music was provided by Karen Strickland, pianist and vocalist, and Gary Strickland, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Vanceboro.
The bride is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Lenoir Community College. She is a member of Associated Surgical Technologists. She is employed as a surgical technician at Craven Regional Medical Center.
The groom graduated from North Hampton East High School and Wayne Community College. He is a member of the turfgrass council and golf course superintendent association. He is employed as assistant superintendent with Taberna.
Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held.
On Sept. 10, Meg Jackson held a pre-wedding dinner at her home.
The bride’s cousin held a lingerie shower Sept. 2 at Texas Steakhouse.
On Aug. 18, co-workers from Wayne Memorial Hospital’s operating room held a miscellaneous shower.
Family and friends held a miscellaneous shower Aug. 8 at Pricetown Volunteer Fire Department.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Steak Barn.
