Elizabeth Joy Barnes of Raleigh became the bride of Alan Brian Hampton of Raleigh Aug. 7 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Glenn Mason officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Saulston United Methodist Church.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cecil Barnes Jr. of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Barnes of Wilson and the late Clifton Taylor and Joyce Taylor of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hayes of Goldsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hampton of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Hampton of Croyden, Pa., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Buford McCoy of Calypso.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory silk satin. The strapless bodice was bordered with a cafe A silk satin. The floor-length princess-style skirt and chapel-length train were bordered in a cafe A silk satin.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered elbow-length veil of silk illusion with seed pearls and corded edge. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and confetti roses, red Gerber daisies, blue delphinium and peach stock.

Miranda Ginn of Goldsboro was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Shannon Weeks and Leslie Hunter of Goldsboro, Stephanie Garmon of Lakeland, Fla., Megan Varney of Key West, Fla., and Rhonda Roberts of Oriental, sister of the groom.

Robert Hampton of Goldsboro was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Andy Snead and Andrew Reed of Raleigh; Robby Combs of Charlotte; Chad Barnes of Goldsboro, brother of the bride; and Michael Hayes of Goldsboro, stepbrother of the groom.

Riley Roberts was flower girl. Joey Hampton was ring bearer.

Pam Ginn directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Megan Worrell. Allison Snead distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Camille Frederick, pianist, and Jay and Terry Kornegay, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Raleigh.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a child development specialist at the Tammy Lynn Center of Raleigh.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1994 and North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is employed as a financial analyst with PPD Inc. of RTP.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club. Earline Strickland and Peggy Walston served the wedding cake. Delena Rosco poured punch.

On Aug. 6, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officers’ Club.

Saulston Church family held a shower July 11.

On July 10, Kelly Barnes, aunt of the bride, held a luncheon at Willow Springs Country Club of Wilson.

On June 26, Miranda Ginn held a miscellaneous shower at the home of Jason and Holly Lewis.

Leslie Hunter, Shannon Weeks, Megan Worrell and Megan Varney held an around-the-clock shower June 19 at Raintree Clubhouse.
