Mrs. Gildener

Corey Elizabeth Kraft of London, England, became the bride of Simon James Gildener of London Saturday, July 31 at 6 p.m.

The Rev. James E. Martin III and the Rev. Ryan D. Rasmussen officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Presbyterian Church.

Dr. and Mrs. Thurston Potter Greenwood of Goldsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Frederick Kraft of Mount Olive are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Tyler Simpson of Springfield, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Kraft Sr. of Mount Olive, Mr. and Mrs. L. Potter Greenwood of Cookeville, Tenn., and William T. Wooten of Blounts Creek.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gildener of York, England, are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Phyllis Newstead of York, the late Dudley Francis Newstead and the late Dr. and Mrs. Julius Gildener.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

Carrie Roberts Griffin of Birmingham, Ala., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Loving Hunter of Chapel Hill and Kathy Lin Meyer and Catherine English Wilkins of Charlotte.

Edward Franciszek Gdula of Bishops Stortford, England, was best man. Ushers were Andrew James Buisson and Benedict Ullyses Mayhew of London and Charles Jonathan Duncombe of Birmingham, England.

Emily Jane Evans and Laurie Helena Evans of Lichfield, England, nieces of the groom, were flower girls.

Phyllis S. Patterson directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Kymberly Kraft Camper and Jennifer Kraft Cool of Virginia Beach, Va.

Greeters were Lois B. Dail of Dunn and Dale H. Carpenter of Charlotte. Readers were Christopher Potter Greenwood of Goldsboro and Timothy John McNamara of London.

A program of wedding music was provided by Paul W. Cunningham, organist; Jessica Lee of Chapel Hill and Michelle Leigh Timmerman of Chattanooga, Tenn., vocalists; and Scott Pagona, trumpeter.

After a wedding trip to Zanzibar, the couple will reside in London.

The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in business. She is employed as an investment banker at Bank of America of London.

The groom graduated from Nottingham University of England with a bachelor of laws degree. He is employed as a senior associate attorney with Robin Simon LLP of London.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club. Dr. and Mrs. Robert S. Meyer greeted guests. Stacy Delano of Lynchburg, Va., was director.

On Aug. 1, Dr. and Mrs. H.B. Edgerton Jr., friends of the family, held a brunch at the home of the bride’s mother.

Kay Greenwood and Melody Barackman held a bridesmaids’ luncheon July 30 at Goldsboro Country Club.

Friends and family of the bride held a pig picking July 29 at Sleepy Creek.

On July 10, Edward Gdula held a bachelor party in Cambridge, England.

Jacqueline Mayhew, friend of the bride, held a bachelorette party July 3 in London.

Friends held an engagement party May 29 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Keim of Goldsboro.

On May 30, Carrie Griffin held a lingerie shower and bachelorette party in Chapel Hill.

The couple held an after-rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek County Club.
