Mrs. Finch

Kelly Rebecca Glover and Edwin Michael Finch were united in holy marriage June 5 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Barry Stallings and the Rev. David Allen officiated at the double-ring garden ceremony at the home of the groom’s parents.

David and Becky Glover of Pikeville are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Glover and Alton and Pat Parnell of Pikeville.

The groom is the son of Warren and Fe Finch of Pikeville. He is the grandson of Alton and Alice Finch of Pikeville and Drs. Jose and Angela de Varona of Sneads Ferry.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white A-line gown with a satin bodice and an organza skirt. Beaded appliqués adorned the dress. It had a semi-cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a comb accented with crystals and beading. She carried a hand-tied clutch bouquet of calla lilies.

Mindy Glover of Pikeville, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Isabel Finch of Chapel Hill and Teresa Finch of New York, N.Y., sisters of the groom, and Leslie Parsons of Chesapeake, Va., Karen Mayo of Chapel Hill and Gina Holland of Wilson, friends of the bride.

Warren Finch was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Paul Finch of Coates, brother of the groom; Robert Bolding and David Hardesty of Raleigh and Eric Thompson of Winston-Salem, cousins of the groom; and Karl Whitney of Durham, friend of the groom.

Samantha and Meredith Futrelle of Mount Olive, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Aaron Parnell of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Nancy Adams of Rosewood, cousin of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Matthew and Trudi Rast, friends of the couple.

Crystal Gardner, friend of the couple, distributed programs. Bradley Glover of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was bell ringer.

Readers were Renee Futrelle, aunt of the bride, and Teresa Bolding, aunt of the groom. Clay Gardner was a parking attendant.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jenny Heim, violinist; Dr. Angela de Varona, aunt of the groom, flutist; Jimmy Aycock, pianist; and Jean Milleson-Jones and Tyron Corbett, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to la Playa de Carmen, Mexico, the couple is residing in Wilson’s Mills.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor of arts degree in English and a certification in secondary education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Fraternity. She is employed by Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1998. He attends North Carolina State University for a degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed by Outback Steakhouse.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Lane Tree Country Club. Kathryne Parnell, aunt of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Kitty Glover, aunt of the bride, poured punch. Assisting was Mary Gardner. Lydnsey Parnell and Taylor glover, cousins of the bride, distributed favors.

On June 4, the groom’s parents held an after-rehearsal dinner at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.

Martie McCall held a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 4 at the Royal Tea Rooms. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

On May 28, friends of the groom held a bachelor party at the home of the groom’s parents.

Teresa Bolding, Nora Finch, Isabel Finch and Fe Finch held a cookout May 22 at the home of the groom’s parents.

On May 21, co-workers at Charles B. Aycock High School held a shower at the school.

Leslie Parsons, Angie McCall and Mindy Glover held a lingerie and bachelorette party May 8 at the McCall home and in Atlantic Beach.

On March 28, friends and family held a miscellaneous bridal shower at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
