Fail - Sasser
PIKEVILLE — Stacie Rhea Sasser and Timothy William Fail exchanged promises Saturday, June 12 at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Timothy Creel officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Pike’s Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gray Sasser of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Kathleen Sasser of Pikeville, the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Howell and the late Jasper E. Sasser.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. William (Billy) Fail of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.F. “Buck” Scott, the late Ethel Cox and the late Ben R. Fail.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal satin gown. The strapless fitted bodice was embellished with pearls and crystal beading with a cathedral-length train flanked with beaded crystals and pearls.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of crystal baguettes. The peaked crown ensemble had white waist-length illusion embellished with crystal clusters and a pencil edge. She carried a hand-tied colonial bouquet of pink roses.
Sheree Millard, twin sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Leslie Sasser, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tammy Peele of Goldsboro, sister of the groom, and Lauren Claiborne and Trudy Rast of Pikeville and Christy Cox of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.
William Fail was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Brian Peele, brother-in-law of the groom, and Fred Cox, Chris Brock and Jonathan Gardner of Goldsboro and Aldon Cox of Winston-Salem, friends of the groom.
The late Ferrell Scott was memorable groomsman.
Jason Scott of Mount Olive, cousin of the groom, and Brandon Faucette of Goldsboro, friend of the groom, were acolytes.
Emily Peters of Pikeville, friend of the family, was flower girl. Cody Mitchell of Princeton, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Joyce Cotton of Pikeville, friend of the bride’s family, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Jennifer Scott, cousin of the groom. Mendi Burnham, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Anna Lee Crumpton, harpist; Anne Gurley, organist; and Lauren Claiborne, Ronda Jackson and Jamie Gurley, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 1997 honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2001 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She is employed with Wayne County Public Schools as a first grade teacher at Carver Elementary School.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1998 and Mount Olive College in 2002 as a Phi Beta Lambda honor graduate with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He is employed with Wayne Memorial Hospital and UPS.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church family life center. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Howell greeted guests. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Fail said good-byes. Paige Peele, cousin of the bride, distributed sparklers.
On June 12, a golf outing was held at Lane Tree Golf Course.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 11 at Lane Tree Golf Club. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
On June 5, the bride’s mother held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Royal Tea Rooms. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
Friends of the groom held a bachelor weekend June 5.
On May 25, friends held a bachelorette weekend in Wilmington.
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Peel, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, held a stock-the-pantry shower and cookout May 22 at their home.
On May 16, aunts and uncles of the bride held a dinner and bridal shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mitchell.
Ladies of Pikes Crossroads Church and aunts of the bride held a bridal shower May 16 at the church.
The bride’s sisters held a lingerie shower May 16 at the Millard home.
On May 14, Walnut Creek ladies tennis team held a dinner party at Italian Pizzaria and Grille Restaurant.
Staff of Carver Elementary School held a bridal shower April 28 at the school.
On April 14, United Sunday school class of Providence United Methodist Church held a bridal shower at the church.
The bride’s parents held an engagement party Oct. 11 at their home.
