Mrs. Gurley

Nancy Anne Willis and Jamie Douglas Gurley were married Saturday, March 13 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Timothy Creel and the Rev. Steven Willis officiated at the ceremony at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The Rev. and Mrs. Steven Willis of New Bern are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mary Elizabeth Smith of Atlantic, the late Charles C. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer D. Willis of Beaufort.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Gurley of Pikeville are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.W. “Pete” Elmore and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifton M. Gurley.

Sheila Willis of Wilmington, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Buckley of Charlotte, Jennifer Gaskins of Reelsboro, Angie Mozingo of Raleigh, sister of the groom, and Melodie Parnell of Otway.

Brian Rogers of Winterville was best man. Groomsmen were Jay Minchew and Mark Radford of Goldsboro, Stan Mozingo of Raleigh and Mike Price of Pikeville. Ushers were Jeffery Bailey, Chris Cotton and Mike Smith of Pikeville and Joe Bailey Jr. of Goldsboro.

A program of wedding music was provided by Doug Seymour, pianist, and Tim and Jennifer Wells, vocalists.

Special helpers were family members and friends of the couple.

After a wedding trip to Raleigh, the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education. She is employed with the Social Security Administration as a claims representative.

The groom graduated from Wayne Community College with an associate’s degree in electronics engineering technology. He is employed with General Electric as an electrician.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church ministry training center.
