RALEIGH -- Wayne Country Day launched defense of its Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference championship in nail-biting fashion Thursday afternoon.
Caleb Brewer tallied both goals in the Chargers' 2-1 victory over Friendship Christian.
Marquise Newell assisted on both goals.
Wayne Country Day (7-0-0, 1-0-0 CPIC) plays host to Harrells Christian next Tuesday.
