PIKEVILLE -- Two parts of the "Norwayne 9" supplied the offense Charles B. Aycock needed during its 2-0 triumph over region nemesis Rocky Mount on Monday evening.
Seniors Christian Sexton and Coe Jordan hooked up for two goals and two assists apiece as the Golden Falcons improved to 4-1-2 overall heading into tonight's home encounter with another region foe -- Hunt.
Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Hardy Talton Stadium.
Sexton broke a scoreless draw in the 34th minute off of Jordan's assist.
He repaid the favor to Jordan in the 58th.
The duo has combined to collect 22 points (eight goals, six assists) this season. Jordan leads the Golden Falcons with five goals.
Aycock had plenty of close looks the remainder of the game, but couldn't produce another mark against the Gryphons.
Golden Falcons keeper Skyler Lander earned his fourth shutout between the pipes. CBA has permitted just four goals in 560 minutes of play this season.
It was the first regular-season meeting between the Golden Falcons and Gryphons since 2016.
