Eastern Wayne emerged victorious in five of six singles matches, and turned back Princeton, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon.
Emily Stratton, Amelia Dunmire, Ava Bowen and Sarah Underwood each prevailed in straight-set fashion.
Fifth-seeded Makaila Colebrook led 7-5, 4-2 before the Bulldogs' Katelyn Askew retired due to the heat.
Dunmire-Bowen and Stratton-Underwood each won their respective doubles match.
"Our numbers one through four played well today to rebound from a loss yesterday to Goldsboro," EW head coach Craig Hassell said. "Makaila endured a marathon match. Brynae Wade put in a strong performance at number six before heat forced her to retire from the match. I am very proud of these young ladies [Colebrook, Wade] as they continue to improve each match."
The Warriors (1-1 overall) entertain D.H. Conley in the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference opener for both teams next Tuesday.
