Tennis --Eastern Wayne falls to D.H. Conley

HOLLYWOOD CROSSROADS -- Eastern Wayne, despite a stellar outing from Dylan March, fell on the road to ECC 3A foe D.H. Conley by a 6-2 count on Wednesday.

March paired with Walker Davis to file an 8-4 doubles victory over Will Whitehurst and Drew Varnell, then defeated Whitehurst, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 singles.

Eastern Wayne(0-1) dropped one other doubles match, and five of six in singles.

"To play the three-time consecutive conference champ the first match at their place was no easy task," EW coach Craig Hassell said. "Conley has a great program and graduated many players from last year, but has reloaded... we just came up short in several matches that could have gone our way."
