BASKETBALL --Goldsboro turns back C.B. Aycock

Goldsboro overcame a slim halftime deficit on Wednesday night to notch a season-opening victory over ECC 3A member and Wayne County foe Charles B. Aycock, 71-54, at venerable Norvell T. Lee Gymnasium.
Christian Bullock paced the Cougars with 13 points, while Tyzhaun Claude added 12.
Isaiah Wilder also scored 12 points. Transfer DJ Waters added 11, and sharpshooter Jarrod Scott tallied nine points.
Aycock's Eli Batts led all scoring with 20 points, while Marquez Farmer added 12.
Rakilen Butler, a Southern Wayne transfer, added four points.
