JV FOOTBALL --Rosewood stars shine at Union

ROSE HILL -- Rosewood raced to a 34-0 halftime advantage on Thursday night before settling for a 20-point triumph on the road versus Union.
Will Harris and Logan Merritt led the Eagle charge, hooking up on touchdown passes of 24, 72 and 13 yards.
Harris threw for 162 yards on the evening.
Avante George also played well for RHS, scoring the game's first touchdown on a burst from 11 yards. Davian Thompson also torched Union for a score on a 48-yard reverse.
Tyshon McCoy led the Eagle defensive effort with 14 tackles and a pair of fumble recoveries.
Elijah Joyner made six tackles, while Jarrett Jackson, Keith Jones, Kevon Darden and Jayquon Mickens made four apiece.
Christian Decatur rounded out the defensive showing by stepping in front of a Union pass for an interception.
The victory garnered at least a share of the Carolina 1-A title for Rosewood.
