Cross Country --Owens, Gregory dominant at Old Waynesborough Park

Following Monday's early-afternoon downpour, Charles B. Aycock's Deshawn Owens and Sarah Gregory collected individual honors at the Wayne County Cross Country Invitational held at Old Waynesborough Park.
Owens performed as he has all season, crossing the tape in a blistering 15:56, while Gregory concluded the sweep by dominating the girls' event.
CBA claimed the boys' title with 27 points, receiving All-County performances from Davis Carroll (16:25), Randall Hobday (16:37) and Brady Lavoie (17;09)
Southern Wayne, paced by Josh Raynor (16:21), finished in second position.
Wayne Country Day, led by Connor Bauer (16:55) and Cole Atwood (17:36), nabbed third place.
Rosewood, Spring Creek, Eastern Wayne and Faith Christian rounded out the order of finish in the boys' division.
Wayne Country Day edged out Rosewood to capture the girls' title.
Nicole Rodriguez of Southern Wayne medaled and earned third in the girls' meet with a time of 20:19. Caroline Best also ran well for the Saints, finishing with a time of 22:44.
