KINSTON -- Ben Cohen delivered a career-best five-goal performance as Wayne Country Day throttled Parrott Academy, 7-1, on Thursday afternoon.
Cohen notched goals on two assists from Luis Lopez and one pass from Nehemiya Shaw. His other two successful marks on frame were unassisted.
Shaw posted a goal off of David Gurley's assist.
Bash Attiah polished off the Patriots with an assist from Shaw.
"It was a solid opening half for us and we put in a good performance," WCDS head coach Steve Ellis said. "We rotated and kept on going. (The) second half we controlled the tempo, gave up a cheap goal, but then went straight down the other end and scored.
"We look to take it (the momentum) into tomorrow night."
The Chargers (4-1-0 overall) play host to Cape Fear Christian today. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m.
