PREP TENNIS: Eastern Wayne falls at New Bern

NEW BERN -- Ava Bowen picked up Eastern Wayne's lone singles point in a 7-2 loss to New Bern on the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference scene Thursday afternoon.
Bowen and teammate Amelia Dunmire emerged victorious at the No. 2 doubles flight -- an 8-1 romp over the Bears' Paige Fountain-Megan Trucks.
The Warriors (0-2 overall, 0-2 ECC) play host to South Central on Tuesday. First serve is 4 p.m.
