PREP VOLLEYBALL: Goldsboro picks up road win

NEWTON GROVE -- Goldsboro bounced back from a third-set deficit to defeat Hobbton 25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 25-17 on Wednesday evening.
Marcy Taylor paced the offense with a team-high 13 kills, followed by Amber Pfennig (nine) and McKayla Roberts (eight). The Cougars had 43 kills as a team.
Pfennig and Nikki Olmsted served five aces apiece. Riley Howell and Dakota Jones each had four.
Jones emerged as the defensive leader with 13 digs. Howell registered nine digs. Taylor and Pfennig each had six digs.
Howell distributed 33 assists.
The Cougars swept the season series.
Goldsboro (3-1 overall) plays host to South Johnston on Monday.
