WILSON -- Junious Tyson logged a "pick six" and returned a punt for another touchdown as Eastern Wayne throttled perennial Big East 3-A power Hunt, 35-14, on Friday evening.

It was the season opener for both teams.

Defensive end Nick Perkins intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble.

Tyshawn Roberts filed a team-high 14 tackles, followed by Prentice Uzzell with eight stops. Jehlin Cooper had six tackles. The Dubs limited Hunt to 122 yards of total offense and two first downs.

Zeke Best paced the visiting Warriors' offense with 155 yards passing on 10 of 15 passing. He hooked up with Marcus Rouse, who hauled in 78 yards on just three receptions -- including a 50-yard scoring strike.

Perkins (29 yards), Alex Sharpless (25 yards) and Ricky James (23) each hauled in passes from Best.

Anthony McNair led the ground game with 89 yards on 15 carries. He posted two TD runs of 1 and 5 yards.

Angus Dove finished 4 of 4 on PAT attempts.

Eastern Wayne (1-0 overall) entertains Goldsboro next Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at New Hope.
