SOFTBALL: Taylor's pitching leads Cougars

Goldsboro's Marcy Taylor pitched a complete game and shut out Ayden-Grifton in a 6-0 triumph on Tuesday.
Taylor allowed five hits, one walk and struck out six batters.
Dakota Jones (RBI), Amber Pfennig (RBI) Taylor Lane (RBI) and Grace Tart (RBI) led the team with two hits apiece. Matti Rose Lyon (two RBI), Addie Shirley and Riley Howell all had one hit.
The Cougars (7-12, 3-6 ECC) host Greene Central today in their regular season finale.
