WINTERVILLE -- Tyler Daniels tallied the game-winning run on a wild pitch, and C.B. Aycock claimed a 2-1, eight-inning win over South Central on Wednesday evening.
Daniels started the rally with a lead-off walk. Bradley Pate laid down a sac bunt that was misplayed by the South Central defense. Daniels eventually scored to give the Golden Falcons (15-5 overall) their sixth win in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play this season.
Chandler Matthews, Blake Gipson, Nolan, Carson Smitherman and Daniels each had one hit CBA.
Cody Whaley limited SC to one earned run on five hits and posted five strikeouts. Jordan Gay recorded the save with one inning of three-strikeout relief.
Aycock returns home Friday to face New Bern. The 2007 state 3-A championship team will be recognized prior to the first pitch.
