COLLEGE BASEBALL: UMO is No. 1 seed for league tournament

HIGH POINT -- Regular-season champion and No. 1-ranked University of Mount Olive is the No. 1 seed for the season-ending Conference Carolinas tournament.
The Trojans (42-7 overall) face sixth-seeded Pfeiffer in opening-round play. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Burlington Athletic Complex.
Other first round games are: third-seeded Belmont Abbey vs. Barton and second-seeded North Greenville (SC) against in-state rival and fifth-seeded Erskine (SC).
The double-elimination tournament continues through Sunday with the winner advancing to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional.
UMO is the reigning champion.
