Palumbo throws well
KINSTON -- Down East Wood Ducks starter Joe Palumbo logged 10 strikeouts during a six-inning stretch and did not issue a walk during a 6-1 win over Carolina League rival Winston-Salem on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wood Ducks took the series 3-1.
Palumbo held the Dash hitless until the third inning.
Michael O'Neill ripped a three-run homer to left field and Arturo Lara smacked a shot on the left-center field wall.
Down East (5-1 overall) entertains Salem today. First pitch is 7 p.m. at historic Grainger Stadium.
