*Softball: Wayne Christian 18-27, Lee Christian 4-9 -- Abigail Kornegay belted a three-run homer over the center-field fence during the first game. Kornegay contributed four hits, including two doubles in the nightcap. Bri Verme batted 4-for-4 -- all triples. Hayli Verme emerged as the winning pitcher in game one, while Lilly Britt claimed the mound win game in two. The Eagles improved to 8-0 overall this season.
* Baseball: Norwayne 18, Eastern Wayne 4 -- Dennis Daingerfield posted three shutouts during a three-inning stint and claimed the pitching win for the Cobras. Clay Matthews tossed one inning of one-strikeout relief. SJ Harris threw the fifth. Matthews doubled and swatted an inside-the-park home run at cavernous Larry Sasser Field. Harris finished with three hits. Cullen Tucker and Hunter Robinson each went 2-for-2. Austin Dilda (two RBI), Drew Spencer (two RBI), Hunter Theriac (RBI), Austin Booth (two RBI) and Tyler Horton provided one hit apiece. Norwayne (8-1 overall) visits Spring Creek next Thursday.
