GIRLS' SOCCER: Goldsboro crushes Northeastern

WILSON -- Juanita Cortes-Torres punched in two goals and Goldsboro handed Elizabeth City Northeastern a 7-0 loss in The Brittany Showcase on Saturday.
It was the Cougars' first-ever appearance in the two-day event.
Tziah Kelly, Rylie Hales, Anna Prezbindowski, Taironnicia Davis and Hannah Williamson each recorded one goal. Abigail Lewis provided a team-high three assists, while Cortes-Torres had one assist.
Goldsboro attempted 27 shots.
Goalies Kay-Lin Bethune and Selena Morales combined for two saves.
The Cougars rose to 5-0-1 overall this season.
