BASEBALL: Moody powers Rosewood past Hobbton

NEWTON GROVE -- Boone Moody delivered a two-hit, two-RBI outing and Rosewood launched its Carolina 1-A Conference season with a 6-0 conquest of Hobbton on Thursday afternoon.
Tucker Chapin contributed two hits and an RBI. Chance Howard (RBI) and Tanner Bradley (RBI) each cranked out a double. Jonathan Peacock and Derek Neal (RBI) each provided one hit.
Peacock tossed a complete game on the bump. The right-hander scattered five hits and sat down 11 Hobbton batters on strikeouts.
The Eagles (3-2 overall, 1-0 CC) travel to James Kenan next Tuesday.
