SOFTBALL: Southern Wayne dominates Rocky Mount

DUDLEY -- Mackenzie Bryan went 3-for-4 with two doubles as Southern Wayne pounded Rocky Mount 18-2 Monday evening.
The Saints scored nine runs in the first inning. Rebecca Coor went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two walks. Caroline Summerlin added two stolen bases and a triple. Claudia Nunez added a pinch-hit double.
Defensively, Bryan tallied seven strikeouts and Olivia Carr made two huge defensive plays in right field to shut down Rocky Mount's momentum. The Saints travel to North Lenoir on Wednesday.
