BOYS' GOLF: Jones cards 71

Bryce Jones opened the season with a 1-under par 71 and Charles B. Aycock emerged as the low-scoring team during a season-opening match contested at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons carded a four-player score of 305 that included solid 18-hole rounds from senior Jake Flowers (74), Ty Daniels (77), Carl Floars (83), Austin Green (83) and Daniel Barnes (86).
Drew Grady paced Eastern Wayne with an 83. In addition to Grady, the Warriors' 347-stroke total included scoring efforts from Justin Whaley (84), Noah Forrester (87) and Nathan Coker (93).
Ryan Kimble and Reid Barnett led Goldsboro's charge with identical rounds of 82. The Cougars also counted 18-hole performances from Cameron Anderson (99) and Joseph Foye (102) to complete their team total of 385.
Wayne Christian's top four were - Darden Bynum (105), Will Gibson (112), Braxton Flores (116) and Dalton Graham (117).
Turner Worth led Southern Wayne with a 109.
Cameron Klages fired an 82 for Rosewood.
