WRESTLING: CBA freshman Hughes turns in 1-2 worksheet at states

GREENSBORO -- East regional champ Tyler Hughes claimed his first-ever win on the biggest stage in high shool wrestling.
The freshman defeated Anson's Achee Hoskins 3-1 during their opening-round match of the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A individual championships.
Chapel Hill's Matthew Minnick pinned Hughes in the second period during quarterfinal-round action. Hughes' season ended with a 5-3 loss to Jacksonville's Clay Langfeldet.
Hughes concluded the year 49-13 overall.
