SWIMMING: Rosewood's Lyon finishes 8th in 200 IM at state meet

CARY -- Rosewood freshman Jack Lyon touched the wall eighth overall in the boys' 200-yard individual medley during the season-ending N.C. High School Athletic Association Classes 1-A/2-A state championship meet Thursday afternoon.
Lyon posted a time of 2 minutes, 10.09 seconds. He claimed 13th in the 100 free in 52.5 seconds.
Dalton Ira secured 15th in the 200 free (1:59.91) and 16th in the 500 free (5:24.26).
Lyon, Ira, Justin Brogden and Damon Merritt combined to take 23rd in the 200 free relay in 1:43.68. It was Brogden's final meet of his prep career.
