INDOOR TRACK: Warriors punch tickets to 3A state meet

FRANKLINTON -- Eastern Wayne made the most of its appearance in the Red Ram Last Chance Invitational contested at Franklinton High School on Saturday.
The Warriors are sending four individuals and two relay teams to the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A indoor track and field state championship meet in Winston-Salem.
On the girls' side, Amari Brigman and Treycie Ford qualified in the shot put and triple jump respectively. The 4x2 relay is Taniyah Oates, Lucretia Boykin, Claire Molloy and Kianna Haywood.
Daniel Best, ranked No. 1 among the state's 3-A triple jumpers, will also compete in the long jump. Teammate Jaylin Speight will battle in the 55-meter hurdles.
Also on the list is the Warriors' 4x2 relay of Best, Junious Tyson, Isaac Crossland and Gera Davis.
