BOYS' BASKETBALL: Saints drop road game at South Central

WINTERVILLE -- Bless Thomas pumped in 14 points during Southern Wayne's 70-49 loss to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe South Central.
David Brewer chipped in 11 points for the Saints, who dipped to 1-3 in league play this season. J. McCullen and Rakilen Butler contributed eight points apiece.
The Saints shot 16 of 57 from the floor, including 7 of 17 from 3-point range.
McCullen grabbed six rebounds, while Manny Walker wiped the glass for five rebounds. Butler, Da'ari Walton and Thomas each collected three rebounds.
SC owned a 39-23 advantage on the boards.
Southern Wayne (3-13 overall, 1-4 ECC) concludes first-half conference play at home Tuesday against county rival Eastern Wayne.
