RALEIGH -- Cameron Helt, Christian Decatur and Seth Finney each posted a 2-0 record in individual action, and Rosewood swept a non-conference tri-meet against Panther Creek and Ravenscroft on Thursday evening.
The Eagles picked up nine wins in a 60-21 romp over Panther Creek. They drew three forfeits and won nine individual bouts overall during a 57-21 conquest of Ravenscroft.
But the outcome left RHS coach Bill Edmundson a little confused.
"I'm not very sure I understand Ravenscroft's strategy in forfeiting 106 to 120 (pounds) to us," he said. "They weighed in 38 guys, almost three in each weight class. I'm disappointed our light-weight guys didn't get a chance to wrestle, but evidently the group has quite a reputation.
"(However) we were able to refocus and step up the intensity against a very good Ravenscroft team. The coaching staff was very happy with tonight's team effort."
Rosewood returns home Saturday for the 21st annual USAF/Eagle Invitational. Opening-round action begins at 9:15 a.m.
