GIRLS' BASKETBALL: CBA's Lassiter dumps in career-best 25 points vs. Goldsboro

PIKEVILLE -- Cassandra Lassiter drilled the nets for a career- and game-high 25 points during Charles B. Aycock's season-opening, 57-30 conquest of county rival Goldsboro on Friday evening.
Lassiter drained 10 of 16 shots from the floor.
Tanika Powell chipped in 12 points, while Alexis Edmondson contributed four points. The Golden Falcons shot 22 of 42 (52 percent) from the field during the 32-minute affair.
Victoria Patnaude swiped nine rebounds. Powell and Arlanda Faulkner grabbed six boards apiece.
Powell handed out a team-high 11 assists.
McKayla Roberts and Tziah Kelly recorded 11 and eight points, respectively, for Goldsboro.
