Fast and furious -- then out of sight.

Bethel forward Cole Williams keyed a 19-0 run to start the varsity nightcap on Monday versus District Four rival Faith Christian, who then played its bench en route to a comprehensive, 59-25 NCCSA 2-A triumph.

The senior was the lynchpin in all points of the Trojan press, directing its velocity and scoring on back-to-back triples just seconds apart to open the game. Following a fourth turnover, No. 21 artfully spun a shot off-glass to make it 10-0 and signal-fire the outcome for all in attendance.

Bethel led by 14 after the opening quarter and 34-12 at the break -- by which time seven of its players had entered the official scorebook.

Matters changed little in the third period, as the blue-and-white allowed just three Faith field goals -- a three-pointer by Spencer Millen and two shots in the paint by Dail Spence and Ethan Glover.

Up 49-19, Bethel salted the victory with its bench roster.

"Ball handling was a big issue," Faith coach Stephen Hardison said, "when you have a good press like (Bethel) that... you can coach in practice, but when it comes to a game, it's totally different. Our guys just got a little rattled."

Faith had 21 turnovers for the game.

Williams led all scoring with 13 points, and was followed by Michael Fulcher's 11-point outing.

Eight different players registered buckets for the Conquerors, who were paced by Millen's six points.
