8-MAN FOOTBALL: Bethel Christian rolls past Wayne Christian

KINSTON -- Javon Edwards rushed for 359 yards and six touchdowns, and Bethel Christian became playoff eligible with a 58-24 victory over Colonial Carolina 1-A Conference 8-man foe Wayne Christian.
Bethel racked up 527 yards of total offense -- all on the ground.
Kanin Preskitt reeled in two touchdown passes of 4 and 29 yards for the Eagles, who were seeking their second victory of the season. Quarterback DJ Waters rushed for 97 yards, including a 45-yard gallop in the second quarter.
Junior Tabe returned a fumble 45 yards to the house in the fourth quarter.
Austin Kornegay contributed 45 yards rushing. Will White snagged two receptions totalling 48 yards. Waters also completed a 2-yard pass to Kornegay.
Wayne Christian (1-5 overall, 1-2 CCC) concludes its three-game road swing next Friday at Northeast Academy. The Eagles play host to Lawrence Academy on Oct. 21 and will finish a suspended game against Parrott Academy on Oct. 24.
