FOOTBALL: Carlton scores twice in Saints' loss to Rampants

DUDLEY -- Quentin Carlton rambled for a team-leading two touchdowns during Southern Wayne's 68-28 loss to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference heavyweight J.H. Rose.
Carlton scored on TD runs of 36 and 31 yards in the second quarter. He ended the night with 53 yards on nine carries, and completed three passes for 28 yards.
Manny Walker rushed for a team-high 89 yards and one touchdown -- a fourth-quarter 80-yard romp -- on 10 carries. Backfield mate Deandre Wright contributed 39 yards and a touchdown -- a second-quarter five-yard run.
Mather converted all four PAT attempts.
The Saints (1-6 overall, 0-3 ECC) travel to D.H. Conley next Friday.
