FOOTBALL: North Duplin shuts out Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE -- Kenny Sheppard rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns during North Duplin's 42-0, non-conference victory over Lejeune.
Sheppard scored on runs of 12, 15 and 1 yard.
Colby Bass added 77 yards on the ground, including the Rebels' first touchdown of the game -- a 7-yard ramble in the opening quarter.
Quarterback Will Archer completed 5 of 10 passes for 108 yards and accounted for two touchdowns -- a 14-yard TD strike to Luke Britt and an 8-yard TD scamper in the third quarter. Archer rushed for 56 yards.
Britt finished with 69 yards on three receptions.
North Duplin punted just once, recorded 11 first downs and committed nine penalties for 91 yards.
The Rebels return home Friday for their Carolina 1-A Conference opener against reigning league co-champion Lakewood. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at H.E. Grubbs Field in Calypso.
