VOLLEYBALL: Carreno has 34-assist outing, SC wins in 5 sets

SMITHFIELD -- Ivet Carreno passed out a team-high 34 assists during Spring Creek's come-from-behind 22-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-14, 15-10 triumph over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Neuse Charter on Tuesday.
Fernanda Martinez cranked out 17 kills, served three aces and collected two digs. Kayla Herring turned in an all-around floor game with five aces, seven digs, eight kills and one solo block.
Madison Sullivan contributed two aces, one assist, two digs and 10 kills -- second-most on the team behind Martinez. Shae Odom collected eight digs.
The Gators entertain North Duplin on Tuesday.
