VOLLEYBALL: Wayne Christian pulls off 5-set win

After coming off a fourth-place finish at the Bob Jones (SC) University High School Invitational, Wayne Christian turned back Pitt 25-14, 26-24, 17-25, 19-25, 15-12 on Thursday evening.
Hannah Sladick provided 15 kills, 24 digs, seven blocks and five aces. Mercy Wright contributed eight kills, three blocks and two aces. Ashlee Harrelson just missed a double-double with eight kills and nine aces.
Hope Shook and Holley Gurley combined for 23 digs.
Kasey Norris passed out 45 assists and served two aces.
Wayne Christian (17-2 overall) puts its unblemished Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference record (7-0) on the line today against Pope John Paul II Catholic HS.
