VOLLEYBALL: Lakewood slips past Spring Creek

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Kayla Herring cranked out a team-best 11 kills as Spring Creek dropped a heart-breaking 21-25, 25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 9-15 loss to Lakewood on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Thursday.
Herring also posted nine digs on defense.
Fernanda Martinez contributed nine kills. McKinley Edmondson recorded two aces, nine digs and five kills. Madison Sullivan supplied two aces, six kills and two blocks.
Emily Dupuy logged two kills and two blocks, while Shae Odom picked up eight digs. Ivet Carreno handed out 26 assists.
